Hello! I am looking for a movie, which I believe was filmed in 2000s? It might have also been a SERIES or even episode(s) of a TVSHOW and maybe it's also a bit older[1990s]? I saw it as a child and I have been trying to remember for 10 years! Please if you have any idea, write it down, thank you very much :)
What I can remember:
1. the main female character is a brunette
2. it is period drama, could be something between 15th-18th century (?)
3. some other woman (I believe it was heroine's mother) commited suicide years ago by stepping in to the lake, drowning. She did it, because someone raped her. This is shown to us a black-and-white flashback.
4. there is a scene in which the Bad Guy tells the heroine not to fight back or he will ensure the death of a Good Guy (she is in love with Good Guy, but the Bad Guy wants her and he is rich and evil) - she agrees and the Bad Guy already undresses her, she is lying on bed and wearing a stocking ans he is about to rape her - but then the Good Guy is behind the door, she begins to fight back and then both men get into a fight. Maybe, maybe it is so that the Good Guy strikes the Bad Guy and the bad guy is dying, but he still manages to fire a crossbow at the good guy... →
5. the last scene (at least I think it was a last scene, anyway some scene) is when the Bad Guy shots the Good Guy in a chest with an arrow which he fires from a crossbow. And the Good Guy dies in the arms of the brown-haired heroine and she cries and screams. The whole scene is happening at the sunny courtyard of some castle.
I spent literally hours on internet, searching all kind of movie databases and I still can't find anything :( :D The problem is, of course, that I remember just unclear details and if of these I am not sure if they are 100 % from this movie. Like the only things I know for sure are these above↑
There are some other memories of which I am even less sure of:
Maybe there is some "prince Phillip"
Maybe there is a doctor which says something like "I'm glad there is a plague, at least I have a job"
in one scene heroine stands by some curtains and look out of the window (not very precise, I know, I am really desperate :D)
And maybe the Good Guy did something somewhere it some stony place, some ruins? I'm not sure about this at all. Maybe there was some weird dance scene with a heroine and the Good Guy?
And heroine and the Good Guy are kept apart, forbidden love, I THINK.
And that about heroine's mother was quite important. Someone said something like 'she was dishonoured and couldn't live anymore" and maybe she was pregnant when she stepped into the lake and drowned.. or maybe not.
I saw it some some 7 or 10 years ago on Czech television, but I'm sure it wasn't Czech. I would guess American or British but might have been also or Australian or Canadien or anything other European, I don't know.
I am not even sure it was a movie, it might have been a serie, because I remember a pause - when heroine is driving in the carriage, there was some sort of interruption I think, but the story was , as far I remember quite closed. I really couldn't find such a movie, so maybe it was a miniseries or episode(s) os some TV show? But maybe I just didn't find it as a movie.
I saw it as a child so back then I didn't know many actors. If I had to guess now I would say there weren't any famous actors.. but that's just a guess.
I have it stuck in my mind (might be because of scenes which seemed very adult to me back then :D but what I remember today is, that it wasn't graphic at all. Yet I would say it could be like 12+?
I think the Bad Guy was some kind of hunter, it was I think something like his position at the court (of some king?)
I would say it was set before the time period of Pride and Prejudice for example. Another problem is that while I might be wrong, I am not convinced that it was a high-quality piece of cinematography so there might be some historically inaccurate things... but of course in general it can help to narrow things down.
I am not sure about the horses.. I know that the heroine was driving in a carriage and I don't remember her driving a horse (but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, yet I think it was set in a time when it wasn't common for women to ride horses)
I am not very sure about the doctor scene, it might have been from another movie... anyway he seemed more as some kind of medieval healer healing a plague... but it wasn't medieval, the heroine wore, I believe,corset and wide skirts.
I fear that it is possible that I won't recognize the movie by a name (for sure I don't know the name :D) but not even by a poster or even a trailer, because most of it are just wide white places :D but I do remember some scenes, the good guys death on a courtyard, woman in flashback stepping in to the lake and I truly hope that someone who has seen it movie might see this post and give me the name.
Overall I don't think it was a high-quality movie/series. It was a period romantic drama and this is everything I remember from it. I can't find it anywhere, so if you have the slightest idea of what it might be, please, write me, thank you! :)
