Hello, I am trying to find a 1990's UK mini series set in the 19th century. It was about 4 aristocratic sisters who needed to marry. It has beautiful costumes that were (for the 90's} very accurate and elaborate.
One of the younger sisters became pregnant out of wedlock. Another sister played by a redhead-ish actress with thin lips ended up marrying an Irish lord to the dismay of her family. I don't remember what the other 2 girls did.
I think the one who moved to Ireland also ended up with the illegitimate child of her younger sister. I seen to telemedicine that at one point the sister with the illegitimate child either committed suicide or tried to.
I remember (I think) that it came out after Colin Firth's Pride and Prejudice. But that may be only here in the US. I think it was based on a book.
The actress who played the sister who had the baby out of wedlock went on to supporting roles for many years. She had dark ash to medium brown hair.
The Irish lord sister also went on to many other supporting roles.
