I’m looking for the title of an English period drama based in either the 1700’s or 1800’s where a female child is taken into a wealthy family and should have been in line for an inheritance but she is treated badly and by the end of the story some of the family members die and she eventually gets the inheritance. My memory is really sketchy on the story line but I think the girl gets sent to another family for a time.
