I'm trying to remember the name of a t.v. drama from the 1980s or 1990s. It was about a single woman, youngish with red hair. I don't remember if she had kids. Her ex husband was a musician who played the horn in a group that she used to sing with. There was still some smoldering romantic interest between them. But, she also began dating a good looking, black cop who eventually gets killed on the job. (Not the t.v. drama "One Day at a Time".
