A girl takes the place of her dead after she committed suicide rather than marry this guy. The girl actually meets the guy in the market one night when she is robbed. He gets her coin purse back. He drops his jade pendant and she picks it up. He and his brothers communicate with whistles because he has a poor sense of direction.
He and his brothers know that she is not the sister that he was going to marry. The guy is afraid of fire. On the night of their marriage, he comes to bed drunk. She ends up dumping a basin of water on him. On their second marriage, they are sitting on the bed and she gives his pendant back to him. The guy looks like the Chinese version of Mathayus from the Scorpion King. That is the best way that I can describe him.
