It’s an older book written probably in 80’s. Mid west, One son is half Indian and he comes back and forth on his family’s estate. She is visiting but running away from her uncle. The family is having a ball and the brother has been drinking, and finds her in gazebo I believe. And rapes her. She goes to the sister and has to leave immediately. Not telling her what happened. So she leaves with an older lady that has a cafe in another town and she lives with her and helps out. He comes in one day and finds her working. The older lady fakes like she’s sick and request they marry as her last request. So they do. It’s a hate love relationship. They go out to his cabin and a bear attack’s. And so on.
