This drama may have been a series, BBC I think. The young lady was in love with a gentleman who was maimed in the war. She did not know the extent of his injuries until their wedding night and felt betrayed when she saw his injuries would not allow them to have a normal marriage (no sex). I think she decided to have the marriage annulled and he was devastated. His mother had been aware but never revealed his condition before the wedding either.
