Long ago in the 1980's I caught a drama on PBS, but I only have a vague recollection so I'll do my best to describe it. I believe a punk city girl is sent (by parents or social services? idk) to spend the summer living with a rural, isolated older woman (on an island, if I'm not mistaken).
I'm pretty sure the punk girl was at first cynical and very uninterested in doing "country-style" tasks with the woman on her routine chores and wants to ditch and return to city but she's stuck there for the duration of the arrangement anyway. I think this was supposed to be a learning and growing experience for the punk girl (who may have also been delinquent in some way, idk) to learn how to appreciate becoming more DIY or self reliant or appreciative of people helping her or something like that.
I have no idea if this movie is well-known, obscure, a part of a series or anything. I just thought it would be fun to test the accuracy of my recollection of this drama.
