I'm trying to find a period movie I saw on TV a few years ago. It may have been British, but I can't remember for sure. There was a man, I think his wife called him Willie, who gets this idea that an older man is pursuing his wife. He becomes very jealous and loses his sanity and runs off with their son. The wife, who was never interested in the other man, searches for them, but the police won't help because the son is with his "natural father." In the end, she finds them and reassures him that she was never interested in the other man, but he is very sick by the time she finds him and he does. I would guess it was made in the 90's or 00's.
