I remember watching a play on TV in the 50s about a young woman and her family whose lives revolve around caring for her invalid brother. She falls in love and wants to get married and move. The family pressures her to stay and continue her role in the family with the brother. The climax comes when she comes home unexpectedly and discovers him dancing with a neighbor, not an invalid at all.
