This film was made in the 1980s, and was set in England in maybe the 1920s. A woman was having an affair. She wanted a divorce and her husband agreed to let her sue him. He met a detective and a prostitute - who had a little girl with her - in a railway station and they went to a hotel where the next morning the detective walked in on the man and the woman in bed. But the wife was greedy and tried to get more out of the settlement than they agreed, so when the detective was questioned in the divorce court the husband's lawyer asked if the man and the woman were alone in the room, and the detective had to answer no, there was a little girl there as well. The husband won the case but he still ended up going away.
