Hi, I am looking for the name of a film situated in I believe 18th century England or France. The man sells fabric and I believe is also a Seamster who is a miser and saves almost 300 pounds. It is stolen from him. He then finds a child who is the illegitimate child of a prominent man in society and a prostitute or maid(not sure). He raises the child on the land of the prominent man, who does not want to claim the child. The prominent man ends up marrying a barren woman. Eventually the prominent man tells the truth and offers that the child become a lady.
