Title Help

I remember watching a period movie in the 1970's. the last scene stuck in my mind but I don't know the title. The lady protagonist (dark hair, almost like Liv Tyler), disguised as a gentleman. She fell in love with a gentleman but was unable to reveal her identity. Ironically, another lady fell in love with her, thinking she was a gentleman. In the last scene, the lady disguised as gentleman has a fencing duel with the gentleman she loves for some altruistic reason. He then realizes that his opponent was really a lady. very romantic. please help... I've been trying to figure the title for years..
