Title Help

Hi, we are trying to work out the title of a period drama from about 1997. Unfortunately the only thing to go on from a friend is that it was probably on the BBC on a Sunday night and was about a man with curly blonde hair either travelling to or from London on a horse. If anyone can help it will help with a certain level of anxiety that has been building trying to work this out!
