It's a period drama (probably 1990's) the young woman is raised by wealthy aristocratic family but the mother hates her and once the father dies she convinces the girl to marry a village man (I think he was a butcher). I remember she fled from the church at the end of the wedding and ran through the rain to the ne'er-do-well aristocrat that she realizes she actually loves. She has an affair with him and becomes pregnant. Her husband eventually realizes the baby is not his and on his death bed writes a letter disinheriting her. She finds the letter and destroys it. Sorry that I can only remember such small bits of it.
