This is an Indian movie- very old, black and white- about a prince who falls for a commoner. He had to leave but gives her a ring with his crest on it as a symbol of their love. He returns and turns out he lost his memory. She travels by boat to see him but loses the ring in the water (a fish snatches it off her finger). The prince ridicules and doubts her and sends her away. She becomes distraught and seeks to end her life. A fisherman find the ring and delivers it to the prince, causing him to remember. He finds her just in time to stop her from commuting suicide.
