I'm really into films about France during the revolution. I saw a french movie with subtitles years ago where a titled lady was anxiously awaiting papers that would allow her to flee the country as the nobility and wealthy french were being arrested and executed. I can't remember many specifics but I recall her pacing in her rooms and waiting for this paper.
