I only remember bits from this movie. It's about two people who are in love, but the man has to go to the war ( i don't remember the historical context). His best friend also goes to the war, and the man tells him that if he won't make it to return alive to his wife, he should promise him that he would take care of her. His best friend agrees, he was anyway secretly in love with the woman and they get married. But she is always thinking about the one that was killed, she doesn't really love her current husband and the children they eventually have 'blame' their mother for not committing enough to the family.
