Hi. Looking for the name of a film from late 90s possibly early 2000s. Set in 1950s. A girl who knows she is a lesbian, dresses in masculine clothing, behaves in masculine manner. Her mother is dead or not around. Dad institutionalizes her in local asylum for help/shame also as she is constantly picked on in their village (English village). She is an awesome person. She comes out trying to dress and act like a girl is supposed to act. This is a travesty. Teased and taunted all the more. Found on the roadside killed. Father is guilty for his wrongdoing. Looking for this title to share with racism and oppression to share with class. Thank you for any help. Great movie.
