I'm looking for a movie that I saw about 20 years ago. I think it might be black and white, but maybe I'm mistaken. The movie is about a young lady who possibly goes to a boarding school or something. She has a suitor, to who she writes letters, but she has never seen him. To post her letters, she asks her friend from school (the school is run by nuns) to pretend that she is fainting during their walk in town. In this time of commotion, the girl runs to post office to send a letter. And that keeps happening a few times. Finally one of the nuns brings smelling salts, for the fainting girl, and the main character girl returns from post to discover that everybody is gone without her. In the end, she meets that man, who was writing the letters, but he's much older and decides to tell her, that his son was keeping the correspondence. It all ends well, I think.
