Hi there, I saw a movie in my university history class but cannot remember the name, after long ended searches I thought i'd try here. It is a story set around world war I. A young woman in a small town falls in love with an older man. They get married but it doesn't live up to what she expected. A young soldier (troubled) comes in to town and they have an affair. I believe he leaves the town or dies...I can't remember that part exactly. The townspeople find out and shun the young woman (and I believe they cut off her hair). Her husband (I believe) ends up taking care of her in the end.
