Hi folks. Way back in 1998, my dad and I saw a black & white black (or African American) film on television and from what I gathered, it was about a young black boy who was struggling in school but trying his hardest to do his best. While that was happening, he fell in love with a young girl who happened to be very sick. One day, him and the said girl did their rendition of Sleeping Beauty but instead of waking up from the kiss, she stayed asleep. The doctors thought she was going to wake up but she ended up dying. I didn't get a chance to finish it because I had to go to bed but its been on my mind for quite some time. Would anyone happen to know the name of this film? I'm thinking it was filmed in either the 1950s or 1960s.
