I saw a movie several years ago that began with a group of missionaries going into a primitive area of probably a South American region. They see a strange sight coming down a roaring river. As it gets closer, they can see that it is the priest they were coming to visit. He has been tied to a cross and has drowned. The group learns that the villagers innocently thought they were doing him a big favor by sending him to the wonderful heaven he had been trying to teach them about. I can't remember what happens after that, nor who plays in the movie, but I would like to know the name of it, so I can watch it again for a better understanding.
