Looking for a movie about three women, grandmother, mother, daughter. The grandmother practices home medicine and is teaching the granddaughter. They clash with the doctor in town, who has been accused of blinding at least one baby during delivery. The daughter is around 20 and at one point is engaged to a soldier (WWII I think?).
When the family is having dinner with the soldier's parents, the grandmother makes a joke about cutting the turkey with a knife that's sharp, not serrated. The mom starts dating a guy and I think they get married... I also remember something about a lucky rabbit's foot, but the memory is vague. Thank you!
