Watched a British movie or mini-series on TVOntario about 15 years ago. It's set in post-war England, maybe 1950's or 60's. It's about a young teenage girl who is part of a rich family and the father owns a factory. The factory employs a large number of blue-collar workers, that the father does not want his daughter communicating with. The daughter become pregnant (not sure by whom) and the father disowns her, I think. She goes off to live on her own in a small cottage but is very poor and needs help with the baby. One of the young factory worker lads takes pity on her and helps her out. The father becomes extremely upset with the daughter and the worker who helps her. Would love to know the title of this production. Never did get to see the ending.
