Trying to identify a uk mini series . Drama set in perhaps 19thc possibly earlier. English couple (husband is a soldier?) who travel to an eastern country. Maybe China/Japan. It is a loveless marriage and she wanders into the royal palace and catches the eye of the Emperor/ruler who takes her as his mistress. They later have a child but it is taken away from her and given to adoptive parents because of its mixed race. Would love some help with the title.
Guess it must have been on TV 1975-1985 sort of time.
