I am looking for a period drama I started watching on Netflix last summer. It is a newer film. It's about a young duchess (younger than 20 years old) who is in love with a young man whom she cannot be with. She is married off to an older gentleman, a soldier who leaves her at his large home for extended periods. She befriends her husbands guard who teaches her to read and write. She is reunited with her lover later in the movie and they have secret places where they meet. Her husbands guard even risks his life in order for her lover to be able to sneak into her room.
That is pretty much all I remember and I've looked up several things, but I cannot find it anywhere. If you know the title of this film, I would really aappreciate it.
