I am haunted by a B&W movie I saw when I was young - early 1960's - it was a War movie. I remember the sound of air raid sirens throughout it and an ending of a lone man walking up a beach from the water towards an eerily quiet deserted town, he hears a sound that I think may have been a dog? I'd like to see the movie again. Any ideas?
