I am looking for a drama series set in the 1800s I believe, it was mainly about black slavery, set in England I think, one of the slaves could speak English but hid it, I remember the white woman of the house fell in love with the slave and had a black baby to which the husband was horrified. I also remember a scene of the slaves in a dungeon and the white woman saying that they should have better conditions to live in. I am almost sure it was a BBC series I think around 1998 - 2001 ish.
