Hello I watched a movie on turner classic movies when I was just kid in 1990. It was a black and white movie about a poor girl. A rich man finds her and brings her home, puts her in a pretty dress and piants her piortrait. He sends her back to the streets but his painting becomes famous so he goes back to find the girl. He finds The poor girl and she starts to climb the social ladder.through marriage she ends up living as royalty and in the end of the movie she throws a beautiful dress out of a ship and it floats in the water. I remember TCM saying that dress was so expensive. Any ways this movie was full of beautiful clothes and was set in the time period when they wore big white wigs and huge dresses. Anyone have a clue what the movie was called? Thank you!
