This was a film I remember from late 80's/early 90's. Possibly set in 40's? An American girl (I'm sure she had red hair) is sent to England and attends a girls school where she is made fun of fir wearing a bright red jumper, and when a teacher asks of anyone knows about the civil war, the girl talks about the American civil war, and the teacher and children make fun of her for that because they meant the English civil war. This has been in my mind for a long time and I'm hoping someone can help please?
